Public realm strategies, aiming to continue local urban development around the public square.

Site strategies, maintaining and improving public space in and around a disused drydock off the canal.

Initial elevation and section maquettes

Speculative section, exploring ideas of warp and weft – the lateral and vertical strands in a woven fabric. Laterally, spaces share function (material synthesis, testing or fabrication) but vertically share method (heat, pressure or miscellaneous).

1:50 Section model, investigating volume separation and circulation in negative space between volumes.

Section A-A, showing public realm’s maintained access to the waterfront, and establishment of new sheltered public zones.

Plans, highlighting the individual character of each of the three volumes, relating to their distinct functions.
